Food

Hanoi is a perfect place in Vietnam to try local food and coffee. Cute little cafes and stalls are serving relishing local food. Some of the must-try dishes are Pho – a noodle soup with vegetables, Bahn Mi – it is like a sub sandwich which has a unique bread with a crust and Coffee. You can have vegetarian options in some places for these dishes.
We also visited Indian restaurants in the Old Quarter serving some amazing food. They have a variety of options for Indian food.
Namaste Hanoi
A spacious restaurant serving delicious food. We had North Indian cuisine like Paneer Subzi, Rajma Masala, and Butter Rotis. The food served was perfect in taste.
Tadka Indian Restaurant
They serve South Indian Dishes. We tried a Masala Dosa served with different types of chutneys. It was good. Also, I liked the Masala Tea.

Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple

In the morning, visit the Ngoc Son Temple near Hoan Kiem Lake. It is a peaceful temple inside the Lake. You can walk from a bridge over the lake to the temple. You need to pay a nominal Entry Fee to visit the temple. It has a peaceful and soothing vibe. You can spend some time here and then explore the promenade by the lake.
You can then take a walk on the promenade. There are cute little cafes on the street across the Promenade. We had fresh sugarcane juice in one of the cafes. There are many stalls for shopping around the street. You can buy souvenirs, bags and other unique items from these stalls.
Train Street

One of my favourite places in Hanoi city. Be sure to visit this place when in Hanoi. I had a great time on the street. You can check the timetable for trains with your Hotel Staff. It is very easy to get the Train Schedule. The best time to visit the street is in the evenings. The street is all lit up with beautiful décor. You will find cafes on both sides of the streets with the tracks in the middle. The cafes look beautiful with small chairs and tables. The street has a different and unique vibe.
Visit one of the cafes on the street for a real train street experience. You can have the popular street food and coffee. Enjoy your time on this beautifully lit street. You can sit and enjoy watching the train pass through the street. It is a memorable experience.
Evenings in the City
I had been in the city on weekends. The atmosphere around the Hoan Kiem Lake is different. You can see locals having a good time on the street. They visit the popular dining restaurants in the Old Quarter. Also, you will find a mall with several popular brand outlets, Gucci and Rolex.
St Joseph’s Cathedral
The Cathedral is all lit up during the evenings. Click beautiful pictures of the Cathedral, explore shops nearby to buy souvenirs and other local products.

The Hanoi Night Market is popular for street shopping. There are several products, souvenirs, bags and more to shop for. There are many stalls with these products on the street. Do not forget to bargain for the best price. It is a weekend market with stalls on the street.
