Surrounded by beautiful mountains and a perfect city with a European vibe, Almaty is an incredible city to plan your next Trip. Almaty city has a lot to offer – beautiful streets to spend your evenings, parks all over the city, and cafes in every neighbourhood. Here are some of the places to visit in Almaty that you should not skip visiting.
Panfilov Park
Panfilov Park is one of the famous places to visit in Almaty. It is a huge and spacious park filled with trees and plants. It is centrally located in the city. The popular Ascension Cathedral is located inside the park. The Cathedral is beautiful. You can visit the park in the evenings and spend some time near the cathedral.
Also, the memorial for the 28 Guardsmen in Almaty is located in Panfilov Park. The Guardsmen had an important role to play in World War 2. This memorial is built in their memory. The locals come here to pay their respect with flowers. The Panfilov Park is one of the places to visit in Almaty that you should not skip visiting.
Arbat Street
Arbat Street is one of the unique streets I have ever seen. It is a street filled with a lot of dining options, cafes, artists and performers with dance and music. You will see people enjoying and encouraging the dance and music. There are no vehicles allowed on the street. You have to walk down to enjoy the vibe of this place. We had a coffee at a stall on the street, relaxed and had a fun evening. I was amazed to find Indian Masala Tea at a stall on the street.
Shymbulak Resort
This is one of the most beautiful places in Almaty. Shymbulak Resort is surrounded by the Ile Alatau mountains. The mountain ranges are covered with beautiful pine trees. Truly, it is a treat to see the scenic mountains. Well, the resort is open for visitors to explore the mountain ranges.
There are Gondola Rides that take you to the top of the mountains. There are three levels of mountains. Each level has cafes and dining restaurants overlooking the scenic mountains. You can spend some time at these cafes and enjoy the views.
You can reach the resort easily by cab from Almaty city. Then take the Gondola Ride to the top of the Resort for the best views.
Central Park
This is one of my favourite parks in Almaty. The Park is filled with lot of activities. A spacious park located right in the centre of the city. This park is known for its amusement rides. It is one of the best parks to visit for kids.
Also, you can take a horse cart ride inside the park. There are electric buggies to take you around the park too. You can take a ride around the park instead of walking, as it is a huge park. The park has a lot of areas filled with lush green trees.
You can sit and relax enjoying the greenery. Also, there are a few snack and ice cream stalls. This is one of the must-visit places in Almaty.
Kok Tobe
Kok Tobe is one of my favourite places in Almaty. Kok Tobe is located on top of the hill. It is one of the popular attractions. The best time to visit is during sunsets. You can spend a beautiful evening at this hilltop located right in the centre of the city.
There are restaurants and cafes overlooking the city views. There are amusement rides for kids to enjoy. You will also find a few viewpoints with a view of beautiful Almaty city. We took a lot of photographs of the city with a beautiful sunset. You can easily spend the whole evening at this place.
