Creator Connect Explurger: My Experience at a Unique Creator Event
This Event has taken me by surprise. It is one of the unique events held in Mumbai. The only Creator Connect Event held on the beautiful streets of the city. It is not a typical event, which is usually held in an enclosed banquet or office. The idea of connecting at a Photo Walk in the most beautiful corner of the city is fascinating.
What Happens at the Creator Connect Explurger Event
The event was held on a beautiful Saturday Morning on Valentine’s Day. The idea is to fall in love with our own city. The itinerary includes connecting with the creators in the first hour and then taking the Heritage Walk around the city.
The Community Manager greeted the creators and was happy to welcome them with goodies and a greeting card. All the creators introduced themselves and shared their social media handles. I met some of the wonderful creators at the event. It is a learning experience. I learnt new ways to create content from them.
Unique Bookstore in Mumbai – Creator Connect
The Creators were eagerly waiting to eat something after an hour-long meet and greet. We visited a beautiful café located inside a unique bookstore. We stumbled upon this beautiful bookstore, KITAB KHANA, tucked in a corner of South Mumbai. The bookstore not only has an amazing collection of books, but the décor is also very special. It has a vintage décor perfectly blending with the beautiful buildings in South Mumbai.
The décor takes you to another world, perfect for a bookstore. It is amazing to see a huge bookstore in today’s digital world. We get transferred into the olden times of reading physical books. You can buy one of the books and read it in their cute little café.
We went to the café and grabbed a quick sandwich and coffee. The sandwiches at the café were very good. We had a great time having breakfast with interesting interactions.
Unique Places To Visit in Mumbai
After breakfast and interactions, we headed to explore these unseen spots in South Mumbai. We met the host of Beyond Heritage. She took us back to the British Era. You feel like entering another world. I was mesmerised by the city’s history and imagined how the city looked in older times.
She showed us a few pictures of some of the places. It is fascinating to know how the city looked in olden days. We went to the well-known and hidden gems of the city. These are a few places we visited during the walk.
Asiatic Society
A library which used to be a town Hall in olden days. It was a huge hall where the city’s administrative work was looked after.
Horniman Circle
Located in front of the Asiatic Society, Horniman Circle held a significant role in olden times. The Mumbai Stock Exchange was located near the circle in olden days.
St. Josephs Cathedral
You will be surprised to know that the name Churchgate came from this church. It was a significant place in those days. It was known as the zero point. The city’s road distance was measured in miles from this church.
Readymoney Mansion
Along the way towards Horniman Circle, you will come across a beautiful street full of buildings with European architecture. There are popular clothing stores, cafes and banks in these buildings now. This lane is worth a walk for the architecture and also for taking pictures.
Also, we came across the Readymoney mansion owned by a wealthy man in olden times. He used to lend money to businessmen and other people in those times. The building had a unique architectural style.
Flora Fountain
You might have visited this iconic spot a lot many times in Mumbai. But did you know that the original Churchgate was located at this spot? The design of the FLora Fountain resembled the four different seasons of the year.
Hutatma Chowk
The Statue was built in memory of the people who fought for the formation of the State of Maharashtra.
My Thoughts on The Event
The Explurger Creator Connect will always be a memorable one for me. The unique event was not only about connecting with creators, but also a learning experience. I learnt about content creation by meeting these creators and interacting with them. I fell in love with my city on Valentine’s Day. As a traveller, this was special for me.
