Well, Aarogya Van is one of the most Beautiful Gardens in the Statue of Unity. It is a huge and spacious garden built with a thought of imparting knowledge of Health and Fitness to people. Aarogya Van is one of the unique places to visit near the Statue of Unity.
PLACES TO EXPLORE NEAR STATUE OF UNITY
This garden has a lot of medicinal plants and different types of plants and flowers. When I entered the place, the first thing I saw was a huge structure on which different poses of Surya Namaskar are explained. The entrance is huge and also it explains the motive of building the garden through the Surya Namaskar poses.
HOW TO VISIT AAROGYA VAN IN STATUE OF UNITY
Well, you need to book the tickets online on the official website of the statue of Unity. The link to the website is given below the blog post. Also, do note that most of the places to visit near the Statue of Unity are closed on Monday. So, you should plan your trip accordingly. Also, take note of the timings of the Garden mentioned on the website.
VISIT AAROGYA VAN – PLACES TO VISIT NEAR STATUE OF UNITY
We were greeted by an instructor while entering the Aarogya Van. He explained to us about the Garden and how it was built. The motive behind building the garden is to spread knowledge of health and fitness among the people. He told us that the Garden was built in 6 months from 1st May 2019 to 30th October 2019. He also explained to us about the different sections of the garden and their importance. Also, there are some great photo points to click photos.
There were some beautiful Bonsai Plants at the Entrance of the Garden. The different sections of the garden are mentioned below
Digital Information Centre
The digital information centre gives information about the well being of a human being and a lot of knowledge of how you can stay fit and healthy digitally.
Garden of Colors
The Garden of Colors inside Aarogya Van is a unique concept. This section has a lot of colourful flowers. There is a section of the Aarogya van built to show the five senses of a human being. The Garden of Colors depicts the sight through the eyes which is one of the five senses.
Indoor Plant Section
Then they have a section with a lot of variety for indoor plants. You will have good knowledge about the plants you can keep and grow indoors. One of the examples of an indoor plant is the Money Plant.
Aroma Garden
The Aroma Garden has a lot of aromatic flowers. This section depicts the sense of Smell which is one of the 5 senses of a human being. You can gain good knowledge about some unique plants and trees here.
Water Fountains
There are a few spots with water fountains in the garden. These spots are good to spend some time and relax in the park. Also, kids enjoy around the water fountains.
Aushadh Manav AT AAROGYA VAN – PLACES TO VISIT NEAR STATUE OF UNITY
Aushadh Manav is the most knowledgeable section of the Garden. In this section different types of medicinal plants are grown keeping in mind the different organs of the human body.
YOGA GARDEN AT AAROGYA VAN – PLACES TO VISIT NEAR STATUE OF UNITY
Well, this is an interesting section of the Aarogya van. One of my favourite sections in the park. This section has displayed statues with different yoga poses. This helps you to enhance your knowledge about Yoga which is one of the best exercises for your physical and mental health.
THE Shop
Then after the sections of the park comes a shop with handicraft and food items made by the local villagers. The best part of the Statue of Unity is that they have employed the local villagers here.
You can shop some local handmade pottery items. They had handmade pottery glasses, bottles and a lot more products.
Cafeteria
Well, after such a big stroll in the garden you will need some healthy refreshments. The Cafeteria is also thoughtfully built keeping in mind about your health and fitness. They offer some healthy options to eat and drink.
Also, the Cafeteria is run by the local village Women. They work here and make homely meals and refreshments. We had some fresh lemon juice here which was very refreshing.
GUJARATI THALI IN AAROGYA VAN – PLACES TO VISIT IN STATUE OF UNITY
One of the meals here was Simple Gujarati Thali. They do serve Gujarati Thali here which is very delicious. You can book a meal with them online. You should ask them to prepare the Thali before a few hours. When I visited the place, they told me that they only prepare the gujarati thali if informed in advance.
The meal was simple and fresh. Though the meal is simple it is very delicious. The kitchen in the Cafeteria is maintained well.
Wellness Centre
The Wellness Centre is run by a renowned Ashram of Kerala- Santhigiri Ashram. They have various Ayurvedic medicines and Ayurvedic Treatments in the health centre. The health centre is just behind the Aarogya Van Garden.
You can have a consultation for some Ayurvedic Medicines and Treatments here. You can check out the Wellness centre, it may be beneficial for your health needs. Well, they use their Ayurvedic oils from the Ashram for their treatments.
Overall, Aarogya Van is truly one of the unique places near the Statue of Unity. You can visit this place for good knowledge about plantations and gardening. Also, you can learn a lot about health benefits. It is a beautiful and huge Garden with some unique plants and trees.
