A Day in Somnath Temple

Somnath Temple in Gujarat, India is one of the most beautiful temples in India. It is popular among the Pilgrims and also a lot of tourists visit this temple. A lot of Pilgrims visit to worship Lord Shiva at this Holy Place. Shree Somnath is said to be the first among the Twelve Jyotirlingas in India.

Well, Shree Somnath Temple is beautifully located along the Coastline. The Location of this Temple is very beautiful as it is near the Sea. You can see beautiful sunsets from the temple in the evenings. Well, there is a newly built walkway called SAMUDRA DARSHAN PATH. I would be mentioning all the details about the temple and the walkway further in the article.

HOW TO REACH SOMNATH

Well, you can reach Somnath by Train. There are two railway Stations Near Somnath which is VERAVAL STATION and SOMNATH STATION. Also, the nearby Airport is at Porbandar and Rajkot. You can take a direct flight to these airports to reach Somnath. To Book your tickets CLICK HERE.

The best time to visit Somnath is from October to March.

We visited the Somnath Temple during our trip to Gujarat. We covered a few places in the State of Gujarat like Gir, Diu, Dwarka, Porbandar, Madhavpur and Junagadh. Well, for the complete itinerary for all the places to visit in Gujarat CLICK HERE. After visiting Diu, we continued our journey towards Somnath. We stayed at Somnath for 2 Days. On the first Day, we visited the Somnath Temple. This temple is beautifully built and located near the Western Coast of India.

Well, we had taken our car from the Hotel to visit the Temple. There is ample Parking Space for your Vehicle near the temple. You can easily park your car in the Parking Space and then walk to the Temple from there. Also, there are no mobile Phones allowed inside the temple. They have a Free Service to keep your belongings like bags and Mobile Phones. The Somnath Temple is a well-maintained place. The temple has beautiful carvings. You can also watch the beautiful sunsets in the evenings from the Temple.

Well, this newly built Walkway(SAMUDRA DARSHAN PATH) near the Somnath Temple is very good for Photography. You can stroll around in the evening watching the beautiful Sunset. You can see stunning views of the Somnath Temple from this Walkway. This is a long Walkway. There are benches placed on the Walkway.

You can sit here and relax watching the beautiful Sunsets. The best time to visit the Walkway is in the evening. You can take a stroll or walk here enjoying the Sea Views with the beautiful Sunsets. Also, you can see the popular Guest House – Somnath Sagar Darshan from the Walkway. It is very near to the Somnath temple. The Guest House is known for its Sea Facing Rooms.

HOW TO SPEND A DAY IN SOMNATH

Well, if you only want to be in Somnath for a Day then I would suggest you visit the Somnath Temple and the walkway (Samudra Darshan Path). You can spend some time in the Temple and then you can head toward the walkway to see the beautiful sea views. You can take a stroll on the walkway and enjoy the sunsets from this place. Also, you can get a beautiful view of the temple from the Walkway. The best time to visit the Temple and the Walkway is in the evening. The weather is pleasant in the evening and also you get to see some gorgeous sunset views from the walkway. There is also a Light and Sound Show in the Temple which you can enjoy in the evening.
