PLACES TO VISIT IN SOMNATH

Somnath is in the State of Gujarat in India. It is popular among pilgrims and tourists. There are many temples located in Somnath visited by the pilgrims. Almost all the temples in Somnath have some interesting history. People do come here mainly to visit the Somnath Temple. The Somnath temple is located near the Coastline and is beautifully built. It is believed to be one of the first of the twelve Jyotirlingas in India. Somnath Temple is very well maintained and very spacious. The architecture of the temple is beautiful. You can have a beautiful view of the Sea from the Temple. There are a lot of benches to sit and relax in the temple after the Darshan.

The Temple is systematically built. They have arrangements to handle long queues. No mobile Phones are allowed inside the temple. They have a free locker Facility to keep your Mobile Phones safely. You can collect them after coming out of the temple. The temple has a very peaceful atmosphere.

This is a newly built walkway near the Somnath Temple. Well, this is a huge walkway built to enjoy the beautiful Sea Views. You can come here in the evening for a stroll and enjoy the beautiful Sunsets from this place. They have placed benches on the walkway to sit and enjoy the atmosphere. You can get a beautiful view of the Somnath Temple from this Walkway. You can take some good pictures on this walkway. It is a perfect place for clicking some good Photographs.

It is said that lord Krishna was shot with an arrow by a hunter at this place. The hunter had mistakenly shot Lord Krishna. A Temple is built in this Holy Place to worship Lord Krishna.

Well, BrahmaKumari Temple is located just beside the Bhalka Tirth Temple. This temple has a very peaceful atmosphere. They also have a small light and sound show inside the temple. The temple is very well maintained.

Golok Dham

Well, this place has a bit of history attached to it. Golok Dham is located on the banks of the Hiran River in Somnath. It is believed that Lord Krishna took his journey to NeejDham from this place. He had departed on the first day of the bright fortnight of Chaitra Month in the year of 3102 B.C.

The footprints of Lord Krishna are carved in his memory at this place.

Triveni Sangam is a significant place. It is a place where the three Rivers Hiran, Kapila and Saraswati meet. The rivers meet the Arabian Sea at this place.

There is a Boat Ride at Triveni Sangam. You can click beautiful pictures on this Boat Ride. You can visit during the evenings to enjoy the atmosphere. Well, the Boat Ride has certain timings which you can inquire about. We had reached late in the evening and could not take the Boat Ride as it was closed by then.
