Mumbai’s only Drive In Theatre has opened its doors for a unique cinema experience. I had visited the theatre a few days back. On a December evening, the Roof Top Drive In theatre is a perfect place to visit with friends and loved ones. Under the open skies full of stars and the moon, it was a perfect movie date.

The Drive-In theatre gives you a feel of luxury the minute you enter the theatre with your car. It is so nicely decorated and maintained, that you would enjoy the whole experience. This drive in theatre is located inside the Jio World Drive Mall in Bandra Kurla Complex which is in the centre of Mumbai City. It is on the Rooftop with a capacity of 290 Cars. The theatre is operated by PVR Cinemas.
HOW TO BOOK DRIVE IN THEATRE TICKETS
You can book your tickets online on the PVR cinemas website. Also, the bookings done are per car. The number of persons in a car should be as per the capacity of the car. You will be charged for the car. The link to the website is given below for booking the tickets.
MOVIE EXPERIENCE
The theatre has a lot of open space to park your cars comfortably. There is a sufficient distance between the two cars. You can view the screen comfortably from your cars. You can enjoy watching the movie from your cars. Some of them were also sitting down on the grass and watching the movie. You can also carry some pillows, and laze around and watch the movie.
LOUNGE
They also have a lounge area where you can sit and watch the movie. The Lounge seats are very comfortable. They are far away from the screen and in a corner. They also had a Christmas Tree decorated in the theatre, as I had visited the place during the festival.
SOUND SYSTEM
The Sound system also was good. They also provide us with a radio frequency through which you get a clear sound of the movie in your cars. Well, I did not need the sound system provided in the cars. There were speakers placed in the theatre, through which the sound was perfectly audible.
FOOD
Well, they have a lot of options for food. There is also a food truck offering different types of Mumbai Street Food. Also, the other food area had a variety of Pizzas, Burgers, Sandwiches, Pop Corns, Samosa and a lot more options. We had a Chinese Bhel from the Food truck which was good. We placed the order for food and then they freshly made the food and bought it to our car.
BEST TIME TO VISIT THE DRIVE IN THEATRE IN MUMBAI
Also, with regards to maintaining the Drive in theatre, the place is very clean and well maintained. There is a lot of staff to help you if you have any issues. I would suggest that you visit the place during winter. You can enjoy your time sitting outside the car and watching the movie as the weather is cool in winter.
Overall, I had a wonderful experience at the Jio Drive in Theatre in Mumbai. It is a one of a kind experience. A different and unique way to enjoy the cinemas. The concept of watching movies while hanging out with your friends and family makes this a fun cinema experience.
