Let me take you to a walkthrough of this spiritual place – Dwarka, Gujarat. It is the place known as the kingdom of Lord Krishna. He had moved to Dwarka from Mathura and lived there for many years. Being a spiritual place filled with history about Lord Krishna, many tourists and pilgrims visit here. In this blog post, I will share my experience of spending a day at this sacred destination.
SOMNATH TO DWARKA
Well, if you have not read my previous blog posts, let me update you that I am on a road trip to Gujarat to explore some of the famous and also the lesser-known places. It was a fascinating drive towards Dwarka from Madhavpur. Well, usually, pilgrims visit Somnath and then come to Dwarka.
There are a lot of interesting places to visit on the way which I have talked about in my previous blog posts. The route is very beautiful and scenic. Passing by the windmills, watching one of the beautiful sunsets near Madhavpur beach and the greenery on the way will always stay in my memories. I also visited Kirti Mandir in Porbandar on my way. It is the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi. There are many such historic places and temples along the way.
DWARKADHEESH TEMPLE IN DWARKA GUJARAT
During my trip to Dwarka, Gujarat, I first visited the Dwarkadheesh Temple. Dwarka is famous for the Dwarkadheesh Temple. We passed through beautiful lush green fields and cows grazing around while entering Dwarka. Lord Krishna is called Dwarkadheesh in Dwarka. It is famous for the Dwarkadheesh Temple.
Passing through the river, and the local markets to the temple was quite interesting. There were small stalls selling clothes, traditional bags, jewellery, toys and souvenirs. Also, you may find local places to eat on your way. Also, saw some Hotels around the temple, if you plan to stay longer. Dwarka also has some luxury resorts to stay.
The temple is huge and spacious filled with ancient carvings and architecture. Mobile Phones are not allowed inside the temple. You can keep it safely in the locker room outside the temple.
We then walked through the lanes of Dwarka and explored the local markets. The traditional products here were good giving them a local touch.
GOVARDHAN GREENS RESORT IN DWARKA GUJARAT
After that, we visited the Govardhan Greens Resort for Lunch. In Dwarka, you can try some local Gujarati Food. We had a Gujarati Thali at a restaurant in Govardhan Greens Resort which was sumptuous with a variety of food to offer. We enjoyed our food at this place. The Resort is spacious. You can also opt to stay here.
This was a fascinating day at Dwarka, Gujarat. The land of Lord Krishna truly takes you on a spiritual journey, transporting you to a different world.
