HEY MUMBAIKARS!!! Do you guys remember the JUHU BEACH? We all have fond memories of this beach from our childhood. There were no malls or cool soft play areas to spend our weekends. We just loved to go to the beach and make sand mountains, play with balloons and enjoy the merry go round there. My recent visit to Juhu Beach refreshed all my memories. It was so relaxing to sit on the beachfront and enjoy the cool breeze out there.
My recent visit to the all-new renovated Juhu Beach was fascinating. The place has been renovated and is organized better than before especially the food stalls area has been all revamped. The food stalls are so neatly arranged and clean. There are newly opened beach shacks with a small seating arrangement which is cool. They serve the famous Mumbai street food. Also, there is a parking lot right in front of the Main Entrance near Ramada Palm Grove Hotel. This is a Pay and Park facility. We parked our car here for 2-3 hours for Rs.60/- which is quite reasonable.
You can visit the beach during the sunset. Enjoy taking a
stroll on the beach or just place a mat on the beachfront and enjoy watching
the sunset. Kids can also take their sand playsets to play with and make some
sandcastles with your kids. There are Nariyal Pani(Coconut Water)stalls on the
beach. You can sip into some coconut water while strolling. Kids can also enjoy
the small kiddie rides like merry go round there.
The beach food area is divided into two parts; they have street food stalls and the Beach shacks which are located in the extreme two ends of the beach.
The food stalls are located near the main entrance of Juhu Beach and the shacks are located on the other end of the beach which is near the famous Prithvi Theatre in Juhu. You can have the famous Mumbai chaat, gola, and Malai Kulfi Falooda in the food stalls and if you want to try some good Pav Bhaji and street style Pizza and grill Sandwiches with a good seating area and Bollywood Music then try the Beach Shacks.
The shacks have a cool seating arrangement right on the beachfront. They serve all the street food on the shacks. We had visited the Balaji Beach Shack which was pretty decent. We had the famous Mumbai Pav Bhaji and also a street style Pizza.
Overall, if you are looking for a different place in Mumbai to spend your weekends other than the usual mall visits or a swanky restaurant for dinner, then do visit the JUHU Beach. Itβs a fun experience.
