HOW TO PLAN A TRIP TO STATUE OF UNITY – TOUR PLAN
I had recently visited the Statue of Unity in Gujarat India. In this blog, I will be sharing my experience about the visit and also how you can plan your next trip. I will be sharing all the details about the place like booking your tickets, places to stay and also about the major attractions to visit nearby. This will make it easier to plan your trip.
This is the Tallest Statue in the world and is constructed by Larsen and Toubro and designed by an Indian Sculptor Ram V Sutar. It has a height of 182 meters. It is located in Kevadia village in the State of Gujarat in India.
Plan a trip to the Statue of Unity
It is located in a small village known as Kevadiya in the Gujarat State of India. Well, the Statue of Unity has its own Railway Station which is Kevadiya Railway Station and has connectivity from the several cities of India. The nearest airport is in Vadodara in Gujarat.
The first thing in your mind will be that
How many Days Will I require for my visit to the Statue of unity
Well, this depends on whether you just want to visit the Statue of Unity or you also want to visit some of the Beautiful Attractions and do some Activities nearby.
If you are planning to visit only the Statue of unity, it will take one full day. And if you plan to also visit the attractions nearby then you will at least need three full days.
Timings and Price of the Tickets
Before planning your visit please note that the Statue of Unity and all the nearby attractions are closed on Monday. So, plan your trip accordingly. The Timings are 8:00 am to 6:00 pm from Tuesday to Sunday. It is then followed by the projection mapping in the evening.
The price of the Tickets for the Statue of unity and other attractions are different. They have different options for the Tickets like Express Tickets, Viewing Gallery Tickets and Entry Tickets. Also, the Ticket Charges for different attractions vary. You can check all the ticket prices on their website. The link will be given below in the Blog post.
Well, due to Covid restrictions, we had to book our tickets online before we visited the Statue of unity. It is mandatory to book tickets online due to Covid 19. The online booking of tickets is very easy and can be done in advance. Be sure, to book your tickets well in advance to avoid disappointment. You can book your tickets from their website. Tips and tricks to Book the Online tickets for Statue of Unity
- There are several options given to book Online Tickets. You can book your ticket to the Statue of Unity with other attractions to visit nearby which will save your time to book everything individually.
- Also, they have an option to buy an express ticket which will be costlier than a normal ticket. With an Express ticket, you can avoid standing in the queue.
- Now, while buying the ticket you can buy only an Entry ticket which will give you access to the Statue of unity but will not include the access to Viewing gallery from where you can see the beautiful view of the Narmada valley.
- I suggest buying a ticket for SOU VIEWING GALLERY which includes the entry to the Statue along with the access to viewing gallery.
Also, all of the above Tickets will include an option to see the Projection Mapping which begins in the evening. Well, there are two options to chose from where you want to see the Projection Mapping which is from Sou Campus and Helipad Ground. I suggest you chose the option of Sou Campus as it is near the Statue of Unity and will give a clear view.
- They have given several time slots to book your tickets. I suggest you take the evening time slot which is 16:00 to 18:00. You can then immediately see the projection mapping which is held only once in the evening.

PLACES TO VISIT NEAR STATUE OF UNITY
JUNGLE SAFARI PARK AT STATUE OF UNITY
This is a spacious area with a lot of animals to watch for. They take us in a Small electronic Car to see the different animals. This place is near the statue of unity. You will need a minimum of 2 hours for a complete Jungle Safari Tour.
CHILDREN NUTRITION PARK AT STATUE OF UNITY
This is a good theme park built for children to explain to them the importance of eating healthy food. They have several games and quizzes for children in the park. Also, they have a Toy Train inside which takes them to different Stations which are designed with different themes. You may need a minimum of 2 hours for Children Nutrition Park.
UNITY GLOW GARDEN
This is another not to be missed attraction. The Unity Glow Garden is open for visitors in the evening as it is lit up with different lights. The sight and décor lit with lights look very beautiful. This attraction may take approximately half an hour.
EKTA NURSERY AT STATUE OF UNITY
CACTUS AND BUTTERFLY GARDEN AT STATUE OF UNITY
Cactus Garden is a garden having a variety of Cactus Plants. You can get to know about different types of Cactus Plants. The Butterfly Garden has a lot of colourful butterflies in Garden. These gardens may take at least an hour to see.
VISHWA VAN
It has been built with a unique concept. There are houses built from different parts of the world. They have shown houses from different countries in the world. This place also may take at least half an hour to explore.
AAROGYA VAN
This is another unique Garden that has several medicinal plants grown in it. They also have a cafeteria and a shop for selling handicrafts. They also have a wellness centre that offers various Ayurvedic medicines and also some Ayurvedic massages. Aarogya van also may take one hour to visit the place.

ACTIVITIES OR THINGS TO DO AT STATUE OF UNITY
RIVERFRONT CYCLING
Well, if you are a cycling enthusiast, I would recommend you to opt for this tour. Also, it is a long stretch, so I recommend using an electric cycle. The Cycle Tour starts from the Parking lot for the Statue of Unity. You have to Book the Activity online in advance. The cycle tour is for an hour. There are several interesting scenic points to explore during the tour.

River Rafting is another adventurous activity to opt for.
EKTA CRUISE
Ekta Cruise is a river cruise sailing on the River Narmada. It is a luxury cruise that has great views of the Statue of Unity from the River.
SARDAR SAROVAR NAUKA VIHAR(BOATING)
The Nauka vihar is a ride on a boat sailing on the Narmada River.
Well, I have mentioned the approximate time each attraction and activity may take to complete, so that you can plan your visit to the attractions and book your online tickets accordingly. If you want to visit each attraction individually then you have to choose different days to book tickets for different attractions.
There are two options in which you can visit these attractions.
COMMUTE
There is no local commute or transport allowed inside the Statue of Unity. You have to reach Shreshtha Bharat Bhavan. There is a huge Bus Stop near Shreshtha Bharat Bhavan. The Bus Stop has lot of facilities like Seating and Rest Rooms. There are special buses of Statue of Unity in which you can explore the place. You have to Book your Bus Tours online from their Website. You also need to take a Bus for Statue of unity from this Bus Stop. The Cost of the Bus is included in your Ticket Price.
- There is an option to take a Bus Tour which is very popular. The Khalwani to Zarwani Eco-Tourism Bus Tour. This tour will cover all the major attractions you need to visit at the Statue of Unity.
- You can also visit the attractions through your Private Cars. You should have the Tickets on your mobile or the Print out of the Tickets before visiting the attractions.
EKTA MALL
Well, you can also opt for shopping in Ekta mall. This is a small little mall located near Shreshtha Bharat Bhavan. There are a few shops having unique handicraft items, traditional clothes and Jewellery. The products sold here are interesting. Also, you can buy some souvenirs from the shops.
Places To Stay Near Statue of Unity
As you will like to explore the Statue of Unity and the attractions nearby. I would recommend you to stay in the vicinity of the attractions and Statue of Unity. This will help you save your time and also explore the place peacefully. I have jotted down some places which I recommend will be good for your stay.

If you stay in this hotel, all the attractions will be nearby and can be feasible easily. Also, the Hotel has beautiful and serene views of the River Narmada. Also, the restaurant of Hotel offers good food options. We had delicious food. We had a Variety of Dosas. They also had some good meal options which were delicious as well.

Well, a Food Court is located inside the Food and Nutrition Complex. This Complex is located besides Ekta mall and also it is near Shreshtha Bharat Bhavan. There are various food outlets in the food court which offers variety of Food here.
Sankalp and Saffron Restaurant
Well, this had been my favorite place to dine in. These Restaurants are inside Shreshtha Bharat Bhavan or the Ramada Encore Hotel. These restaurants serve very delicious Food. Also they had various meal combos which were very good for lunch or Dinner. We had Dosa, Pizza and North Indian. They had a lot of variety of Food to offer.

Food Court inside Statue of Unity Campus
Well, there is also a Food Court inside the Campus of Statue of Unity where you may find some snack options to have. Also, there were several Food outlets inside the Food Court.
